| These are the usual steps in the process of completing a typical illustration project. | ||
Definition |
The scope of the project is reviewed with the client. This includes available information, level of design completion, the size, complexity, view(s) desired, entourage, and schedule.
Proposal |
A brief one-page Proposal for Architectural Illustration Services is prepared and forwarded to the client for review and signature.
Information |
The client provides sufficient information to begin work. This
may be in the form of CAD files or printed drawings. If CAD files are provided, it is
requested that prints or PDF's also be provided. AutoCad .DWG files are the usual CAD
format. At this stage the areas of different materials should be established, but the specific nature of those materials does not yet need to be defined. |
|
Preliminary Review |
After partial completion of the 3D model, line drawings or simple shaded renders are generated of several proposed views which are then reviewed with the client, usually via posting on a private-access web page at richardrush.com.
Final Information |
At this point materials must be thoroughly defined and
samples provided. Some material samples can be scanned or digitally
photographed. For example, if a carpet
manufacturer provides a paper strike-off, it can be scanned. Often, a fabric sample can be
scanned. And some manufacturers can provide image files. The views must also be well defined at this point. For exterior views many entourage elements are often view-dependent, and for interior views some of the lighting set-up may be view-dependent. |
|
Final Reviews |
A preliminary color rendering is produced and reviewed with the client, usually via posting on a private-access web page at richardrush.com. The rendering is then refined based on client feedback and reposted for further review. |
|
Final Rendering |
Unless established otherwise, the fee includes two prints
produced in-house of the final rendering: One up to 16½" x 23½" and one letter size. If requested,
large prints can be mounted on foamcore and a laminate applied. If requested, computer image files and/or 3D CAD files will be provided. There are many format options for these files. Please see the "about" page for more information. |
